Fishing

The waters around Stömne provide excellent fishing conditions. The largest waters are the Flagornas which include Söljeflagan, Stömneflagan and Björnöflagan. The Flagornas are part of the Glafsfjorden-/Byälven system and stretch from the peninsula Rävön in the north to the ferry in Högsäter in the south. There is a diversified range of fish species – 16 different species. The most popular species are zander, pike and perch. For best results you should use large fishing lures. Preferable fishing places are in the reeds and steep shores.
North east of our accommodation you find an expanded shallow water area which is traversed by a deep channel. The deepest points with about 20 m depth are around the island Rävön. Towards Högsäter the waters become more and more shallow.
You need a fishing permit from Stömne FVOF to fish in Lake Stömnesjön and the other waters in the area. You can rent rowing boats for the lakes Nedre Loven, Stömnesjön, Södrasjön and Hällsjön. Fishing equipment can be bought in e.g. Arvika or Lenungshammar.

The Arvika Canoe Center provides fishing licences, boats (with or without motor), tackle and other fishing supplies.
