Surroundings

Stömne is located in the Swedish province of Värmland. Värmland – that is intense green forests, gently ascending mountain ridges, sedately flowing rivers, countless deep blue lakes, sparsely populated landscape, and charming, small villages with traditional handicraft businesses. The inherent natural beauty is characterized by the variation of uplands, lowlands and lakes.


Archaeological findings proof that Värmland was already populated in the Stone Age. But even in the middle ages the area was only sparsely populated. In the 16th and 17th century many Finns settled in Värmland which influenced the culture in the area. Around Stömne you find many interesting natural and cultural sights.
